The Sun Valley Athletic Booster Club was formed in 1999 by a group of parents that wanted to provide more athletic teams to the middle school. Union County only sponsors basketball in the middle school grades. After much hard work and many fundraisers, the Booster Club was established and able to sponsor football, baseball, softball, boys & girls soccer, and swim team (And Lacrosse as of 2013) . Because the county does not sponsor these teams, all aspects of these teams had to be arranged by the members of the Booster Club.
There is a great amount of money needed to sponsor these sports. Uniforms, equipment, referee and umpire fees and pool time are just a few of these expenses. The Booster Club’s goal is to continue to provide for these sports. We have completed the softball field behind the tennis courts but needs a lot of maintenance.
Because of the great expenses, we still have a “pay to play” fee for middle school athletics, that is required from each player. The “pay to play” fee is a non-refundable. Each player is also required to be a member of the SVABC with an annual membership fee of $25.00.
If it were not for the Booster Club, and its dedicated members, these teams would not exist. There are many duties that the Booster Club is responsible for and we are always searching for more volunteers.
Parents: SVABC needs volunteers! To join SVABC you can view and download our Membership form in the club handouts section of our website. This $25 administrative fee helps support the programs offered by this Athletic Association and Booster Club. It is required for all participating athletes.
Booster Club Participation Requirements
REQUIREMENTS TO REMAIN ON THE MIDDLE SCHOOL BOOSTER CLUB TEAMS DURING THE SPORTS SEASONS:
The player must maintain a C average in all 4 main subjects after each grading period
The player must maintain an average of satisfactory on conduct for the current year.
The student must be counted present on game day in order to play in the game.
Three office referrals for disciplinary problems, an ISS assignment or a suspension from riding the bus during the sports season will result in a one game suspension.
An out-of-school suspension during the sports season will result in the player being removed from the team for the remainder of the season with no refund.
It is the responsibility of the player to provide evidence that the guidelines are met.
The SVABC meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm in Room #111 (enter the school through the front door by the main office).
All Middle School and High School parents are encouraged to attend.
